
The Glory Years was considered Nine Music’s (then Nine Foundation) golden age between the years 1996 to 1998. It was the first 2 years of the first generation (first generation was from 1996 to 1999). There was 20 music releases in these 2 years which also boasted a music community where critics, fans and artists showed huge enthusiasm in Nine Music’s activities.
Although the technical sound quality
of the music released then was low, many believe that there has never been
an era as fresh, unique as the Glory Years. The era was characterized by many
street cyphers, talent shows and house
parties. The leading artists of the era were glamorized and prolifically spoken
about. Their actions were concidered legendary with the music releases providing
the narative of the community.
