The single was released to massive critical acclaim and was has been called one of the greatest songs that Nine Taurus has ever made. It quickly became the most popular song on The Awakening and possibly the most popular song by Nine Taurus of all time. The zouk style production was praised for it's freshness along with Nine Taurus's "superior flow" and vocal tone variations.

The song is hugely controvertial with many people taking offence from the lyrics of the song. It was quoted that "On this song, Nine goes beyond rocking the boat. He basicly rammed it with a ship and sank the boat!". It was rumoured that Nine Taurus was approached by several people who were upset with his lyrics. Others were happy that no punches were pulled on this song, with many stating that it was about time someone said it.
